Well gee, it’s been forever since I’ve written anything. In that time I’ve had some awesome experiences, from having cars I am affiliated with medals at the SVRA Vintage Championships to a Christmas party at a Lotus paradise. Add to that more fun adventures with my Spitfire, dating and road trips, and it’s been a fun way to close out the year.

Not every day you are greeted by the Lotus from The Spy who Loved Me when you walk into a party.

So back in the fall the SVRA held the Vintage National Championships at COTA in Austin, TX. Seeing how it’s our local track, a number of my vintage racing friends were competing. Between the eye candy of cars, seeing old friends, and for once having an easy non mechanical issue filled weekend of racing, I got to enjoy myself.

Here’s my friend Robert MacKenzie winning his class national Championship in his 1962 Triumph Spitfire, the 921st Spitfire ever built. Below is another rare beast, a Ferrari 250 LM.

In early December my girlfriend and I were invited to a Christmas party in Dallas at what I term “Lotus Heaven or Paradise”. The following pics illustrate why.

Finally, my trusty Spitfire not only made the drive to and from Dallas, but also did the annual Christmas run to Johnson City, TX with my Triumph club. My car ran flawlessly, but others had radiator problems after going through a low water crossing with 6-9 inches of cold water.

After a great meal and walking around to see the lights in town, my girlfriend and I headed home after some pics. Happy Holidays!

Yup, a Spitfire with a hardtop is still low enough to easily rest on for pics...
